Briefly describe your professional career, including your employment history and notable accomplishments
Following undergraduate school and military service (U. S. Army Officer) I enrolled at Penn State in a program leading to an M.S. in Metallurgy. Subsequently, I entered a program leading to a Ph.D. in Metallurgy. My Ph.D. research entailed preparing and characterizing samples that enabled looking at the structure sensitive aspects of an elemental (Vanadium) superconductor.

Following graduate school at Penn State, I was employed by DuPont in a variety of technical, supervisory and managerial positions in research and development, engineering design, assistance to operations and maintenance, and technical consulting in several engineering disciplines. I authored a landmark paper on the blistering of carbon steels in anhydrous hydrofluoric acid that was cited numerous times by the National Transportation Safety Board in their investigations. I also served as an Adjunct Professor of Reliability Engineering at the University of Maryland for several years.

Please list honors, awards, and professional achievements
I have written and delivered numerous keynote addresses and dozens of technical presentations on reliability systems, knowledge based decision making, gaining competitive advantage through technology and manufacturing supply chain effectiveness.  In 2005, I published a book entitled “Know Your Organization, How to Understand, Operate and Improve Your Organization in the New Business Environment.”  In 1996, I was designated a Centennial Fellow of the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences at Penn State.
